ok this is not even remotely knitting, but I need help. I have Isabelle’s quilt laid out on my lounge room floor in the order that I had originally planned. Jesse is still at work so he hasn’t seen it in person yet but he didn’t like this layout in the pattern, he thinks the numbers should be out of order. What do you think? Are there any changes you would suggest or do you like it like this?

or what about this one:

Sorry the photos aren’t better, even standing on a chair with the camera as high over my head as I could reach this is as good as it gets… They were taken at night too, so the colours are a bit off…

I’m a quiltmaker who does a bit of knitting and I’m happy to see some of you knitters jumping into quilting! I definitely vote #2. The layout is a little more ‘random’, yet the numbers are still in sequence. (And I think that’s important on a young child’s quilt.)

The quilt is absolutely gorgeous, but I agree - go with #2. It just seems to make more sense. So beautiful! Great job Momma!

I am also a quilter who just start knitting. I think #2 is definitely better. The layout of the fibric is better and more eye pleasing. I don’t care for the fibric with smaller prints being set right next to each other (as in couple places on #1). I like the numbers in sequence. I am a perfectionist myself. Everything has itself place. Numbers in random orders? Are you kidding me? ;-)

The quilt is absolutely gorgerous!

Everybody agrees! Jesse and I like #2 better too. Thanks so much for letting my know what you all think! Now I just have to figure out how to trim the thing, Clever me didn’t think of that while buying fabric….

Hey Jo - I’m a quilter first, knitter second (I asked some questions the other day about the market bag - which I will felt tonight by the way!), and I reckon just binding in some pink and white ticking on the bias (so the stripes run at a 45 degree angle) would be the business on this quilt. It’s very sweet. Any of Kaffe Fasset’s patchwork books have instructions - he loves to bind with stripes on the bias

I like the second layout better. But, I am a symetrical kind of girl. I definitely think the numbers should be in order. Very cute!

What a beautiful quilt… #2 is my choice too. BTW, just have to say I love your French Market Bag… the colours are so pretty together :-)
