shrinkage

Pattern: based on the Knitty French Market Bag
Yarn: Lincraft “Cosy Wool”
Needles: 7mm Addi Turbos (60cm)

All done - and SERIOUSLY smaller now! If only I could get Isabelle to pose with it to give you a sense of scale. I am so thrilled with how this bag came out that is going to be hard to part with!

One more gift to go before this baby comes, I have had a cold and I have been procrastinating terribly, but it suddenly stuck me that the baby might not come until it’s done! And if she does come before the gift is done it may never be finished - either way, Yikes! Time to get moving. I think I am going to make some socks from one of the new Jo Sharp yarns.

Hi Jo,
I love how the bag came out, the pinks and purples are so pretty.

This turned out fantastic! Just great, it’s always amazing how much felting shrinks down, isn’t it?

I was waiting for the final shot of the bag and it was well worth the wait. Fabulous! The colors are lovely and the bag looks like it felted nicely.

Wow,
This turned out great.
I have yet to try felting a bag but your previous comments about how you had no bag for over a year really do apply to me as well.
So I think I will give it a go.
I am very enthused about knitting this morning as a parcel of wool from England which I order LATE friday night has already arrived!!! Faster than buying from anywhere in Australia I tried. It also was mostly on sale and included FREE shipping-so I cant beat that and I am going back for more after checking what I need to make a bag like this. Good luck with the countdown to your new little baby.
Best wishes, Mel and Isabella (nearly 3) in Melbourne

Just wondering what changes you made to the FMB pattern. How long was the bag before felting vs after? I am making my first right now. Yours is adorable!!!

I love the colors you’ve chosen. I especially love the texture of the fabric.

One more question!! Your banner is fantastic!! Can you tell me how this is done? To have a new pic pop up each time? I have a website for kids and would love to do this! This is a beautiful blog!! Glad I found you!

Hi Jo,

I have some cosy wool and would like to make the FMB. Could you please tell me what modifications you made to the original pattern ? I love the shape of yours.
