					<description>“dec 2 sts at each end of 5th and every following 8th row to 11 sts” means to knit 4 rows, then decrease each end of the 5th row.  Then knit 7 rows, and decrease each end of the 8th row.  Continue the 7 rows / 8th row pattern until you have 11 stitches remaining.

yfwd means to bring the yarn forward between the needles.  Then slip the stitch, and then bring the yarn back between the needles.  The yarn becomes a design element in the front of the fabric.  You are not creating a new stitch.

You are correct for row two if you are converting to a circular pattern.  Good luck!</description>
