a little shopping never hurt anyone

Look what came in the post yesterday! When I bid for this on Ebay I really didn’t expect to win it so I was very pleasantly surprised when I did. It’s in immaculate condition (did the original owner even read it I wonder?) and it was well less than half price. I did some other shopping yesterday too, I went and bought a walking foot, and while I was there accidentally bought an overlocker, a singer, complete with all the extra feet and also less than half price. I seem to be developing a craft problem….

Back to the walking foot, I also bought some new needles and machine oil for my little sewing machine. Came home, got sewing and WOW, what a difference, I can honestly say I had no idea how much easier it would be. I expect I will finish the stitch in the ditch quilting tonight and maybe even start preparing the binding. I am starting to believe it will be give-able (if not exactly finished) by next weekend.

Wow!! Sounds like a red letter day! I’m so glad you were able to find a walking foot for your machine. Working on a project is so much more enjoyable when you have the right tools.

I bought that Rowan book about a year ago because it has such great sweater patterns…..for me! I’m a bit on the small side and so many women’s sweater patterns are sized too large. With these patterns going up *almost* to my size, I thought perhaps it would be easy to bump them up a little bigger. Haven’t tried one yet, though.

Back to the sewing machine!!

I love that book. I’m making Luka right now for a friend of mine who is expecting a baby boy in June. I like how most of the pattern go from newborn to age 12.

That walking foot is going to make your life so much easier.

That’s an awesome book! I’m hoping to make the denim jacket for the boys this spring. Check it out. Don’t you wish you had a boy now.? ;0)

Ya ha! Been there. Went to Harvey Norman’s for a cable and came home with an Apple iMac G5. I’ve made Freddie from Rowan Junior (changed the star though - to a car logo), really pleased with it.

Just bought that book today - at Alison’s suggestion, actually. I think I might make the Denim jacket for my nephew.

Looks like there’s great stuff in there - good luck with all your other purchases too!
