Debbie Bliss Jacket With Moss Stitch Bands - Simple Hat

Pattern: Simple Hat, at a finer gauge, in the round
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino in colour 340503
Needles: 3.5mm Addi Natura DPNs

It does seem a bit long and narrow, but it’s very stretchy so hopefully it will fit around the same age as the cardigan. I do love baby things, so sweet and small and quick to knit. I just have to finish those shoes now so that I can get on with making a quilt for a baby that was born last week without our ever knowing there was a pregnancy… Um, must keep in better contact with our friends.

Charming little hat, Jo!

Very cute hat! The experience of the “unknown pregnancy” happened to us too. Cardi’s were knitted quick smart! I can’t wait to see those booties. I love the little “stem” on the top of the hat. I wanna knit one now!

adorable hat! LOL. When I first read your post I thought you meant the MOTHER did not know there was a pregnancy. LOL. I need to get more rest.

That is just precious. Makes me a bit sentimental.

he. he. it looks like it has an antenna on top ;) maybe you could expand your preference for micro-knitting into the non-human spectrum… plenty of cute little gadgets needing home-spun coverage…

fyi. my only [incomplete] spike-like attempt at knitting-on-public-transport since living in this rainy city was to make a ‘winter coat’ for my powerbook ;) i used recycled materials (courtesy of the brotherhood bin) which turned out to be completely inappropriate for the task!

but anyhoo the dream of this remains…. something about the hand-made, the re-purposed & the logo-less nestling up against the shiny surfaces of technological excess makes me smile…

I’ve posted some pics of the one skein wonder being modelled if you want to take a look.

I love the hat and the sweater. I was just looking into making that sweater but was looking for a cheaper yarn. Yours has really inspired me to try the sweater.

Very cute! I’m posting about your stitch markers today, so take a look.

Sweet ensemble Jo! I agree re the finishing of the jacket - don’t you dare unpick those seams until you see it being modelled on a real live bub - I suspect the puffy sleeves will become a non-issue.

Your knitting speed is an inspiration : ) we’re leaving on holidays today and I’m busy packing my knitting trying to work out how many things I’ll be able to finish off while we’re gone. I might even try my hand at a sock (I’ve been casting sideways glances at a ball of sock yarn for a while), though I suspect not one quite as complex as spearfish…
