like falling off a log

As I sat in the car, having spent quite some time reading the various bits of web forum I had printed out as “the pattern”, I wondered. Would I remember how to cast on? Would I be able to knit at all? The answer was YES. I can still cast on. I can still knit.

knitting longies

And WOW was it fun! I have seriously missed that feeling. Yarn slipping through my fingers. Something from nothing….

knitting longies

These are to be longies for Grace, to go over her cloth nappies. The pattern is here. I had, of course, started making my own modifications before I was even 10 rows in.

I have thought about shutting this blog down. I don’t know if it will ever be as active as it once was. But I really do want to knit (and quilt) at least a bit, I have projects I am quite desparate to find time for - not that I am having much luck finding that time. And my reason for blogging remains, to document my knitting at least for my own future reference. The number of times this blog has helped me answer my own questions about how I did something has been invaluable. So here I am pulling the blog back from the brink of oblivion. I will knit a bit. I hope to blog a bit.

Hi, I’ve just been looking at your blog entries - some interesting stuff!
My daughter is pregnant at the moment - two weeks to go actually - cannot wait!
I stumbled over your cute little jumper, beanie and bootie set that has a flower on it - blog entry about jacket with moss stitch bands from baby knits for beginners - Debbie Bliss.
I was wanting to get the flower pattern in time to finish off some baby outfits.
Cheers,
Anne

Welcome back, I do check your blog regularly to see if you are knitting again. Keep going, a couple of rows at a time, you can do it. The weather is cooling so Grace will need her longies soon. Enjoy

Ooooh! welcome back! Missed you so. I am finally finding time to craft again also… Some day they will run off and play saying “go knit or something, mama! stop hugging me!” and we’ll all return to the blogosphere.

Welcome back! I love your work and am glad you are posting again. I dont know if you ever mentioned whether there was a pattern available for the tutu’s. My two little girls would adore them and I would love to make them for them. Is it hard?

Glad you are back!

:-) Debra

So glad to see you haven’t lost the spark. Your blog is so inspirational, it sends me off on a hundred creative tangents. Love it, love it. Missed you too, but I understand how little people eat up spare time.
Look forward to more. :-)

Recently stumbling accross your blog has been a joy. I’ve enjoyed your knitting and little feet immensely.

I’ve just got into knitting and I’m inspired to keep at it and eventually be able to knit some amazing things like you have shown here.

I hope you continue to post here, regardless of how frequently life allows you to.

I love your blog I came across it while looking at images of socks, I love the socks you made and would you be willing to share the pattern the (fushia) ones?
I love the baby pics, and I’m glad all was successful. She will be a loving, caring child, as she is a cancer and they are nuturing, caring, and emotional.
Best of luck
