Grignasco Bambi Merino Extrafine in a reddish pink - #680

Yesterday I bought some yarn and two sets of DPNs. Today I bought two more sets of DPNs. Tonight I plan to start knitting a pair of socks. It has occurred to me that Spearfish is not a beginner’s sock. I am not going to let that stop me. Remind me of that if I start whining in a few days time.

Many thanks to everyone who gave me advice on sock yarn, I do think I will be ordering some actual sock yarn at some point soon but I just couldn’t bear to wait another week (or more) to get back to my knitting, so superwash merino will have to do for now, which is hardly torture - this yarn is sooo soft.

Pretty color! I think it’s good to start sock knitting with something challenging….I didn’t and it almost made me dislike knitting socks. Anyway, after that Cabled Jacket and Shedir, you’ll rock those socks!

Wow those are going to be some brilliant socks.
Giggling to see I am not the only one who resorts to baby yarn for socks due to impatience :P
Although I am jealous……. you seem to have much more colour options available to you

Is your wool Colore 175?? I bought what looks like the exact same wool today, Grignasco Bambi, to knit a friend’s baby a cardigan!! What a coincidence, even if the colour is different!!! I have knitted 2 pairs of socks in the last few weeks and I have 2 more green sock wools - Opal and another kind, winging their way to me!!!
