I finally fixed the sleeve seaming on the Jacket With Moss Stitch Bands. Turns out it wasn’t that much of a pain to do at all and it looks much better now.

Debbie Bliss Jacket With Moss Stitch Bands - semaing fixed

I spent a lot of time this evening googling for knitted and crocheted flowers. I didn’t find much that appealed. I had been thinking of a number of smaller flowers along the bottom half of the sweater but in the end I decided that the gorgeous flower from Marnie’s Frog Pond was far and away the best option. And as it happens I did have scrap yarn in suitable colours, well stash yarn if not scrap yarn. The colours aren’t that accurate in this late night photo but I think the purples go beautifully with the green. The question is - is this the way to go?

Debbie Bliss Jacket With Moss Stitch Bands - do you like the flower?

If I stick with this flower the plan is to sew it down with beads, use pearly white heart shaped buttons, or possibly round shell buttons and leave the Hat and Shoes plain. Though I will be turning the shoes into mary janes by adding a little moss stitch strap, with matching button, to the shoes. Is it too much or not enough?

The flower looks lovely, but I was a fan of the ladybird buttons…they looked great against the green.

I loved the ladybug buttons too. But I also like the flower. I could see the flower looking cute on the side of the hat. Hm, sorry, I’m not much of a help ;-)

I like the idea of the flower on the hat as well, the flower might just detract from the simplicity of the sweater which is, in my opinion, what makes it such a sweet sweater…just my 2 cents!

I like the ladybugs, but I really like the flower. Except, what if you put that bigger flower on the hat and made much smaller versions to be sewn at the base of the sweater, right above the trim on the front? That might be nice. But, overall, I like the flower the best.
