Isabelle's Poncho
Pattern: Children’s Poncho - Knitting Pure and Simple
Yarn: Jo Sharp Silk Road Tweed DK in colourway “Festival”
Needles: 5mm Addi Turbos

The Poncho is done. I finished the fringe during our trip to the Aquarium today, partly on the bus and partly while Isabelle played in their playground at the end of the trip.

When we got home I buttered Isabelle up with some camera play time. Bribery does not always work.

Isabelle is NOT happyIsabelle is NOT happy

This is what happened when I suggested she put the poncho on. In fact she screamed and carried on about my trying to take photos of it even without her. Don’t hold your breath for photos of her actually wearing it! The dog was not so picky and agreed to pose with the poncho. Actually, he insisted.

At least the dog is prepared to be seen in public with the poncho
And finally, in case you were wondering, this is how much yarn I had left over:

The poncho is G.R.E.A.T. ! I hope Isabelle will be in the mood for it in a few days :)…

The poncho looks wonderful! I love the fringe. So sorry about Isabelle. My niece used to be like this - she wouldn’t wear anything. Put it on one of her stuffed animals or dolls or something. I bet she gets interested real soon. You know the age - they have to decide for themselves they want to wear it - you can’t tell them. She’ll come around!

The poncho is lovely. I am going to look for yarn to make one for Breanna, my 4.5 year old. I am sorry to hear that Isabelle’s reaction. I have a feeling that Breanna will react the same way when I get hers done. It’s always a love/hate relationship with Breanna. She either loves it and wants to sleep with it or hates it and doesn’t want to have anything to do with it. Sigh!!!! The thing is that for us, the weather is getting warmer, there won’t be much time for poncho anyway. If Breanna doesn’t like her now, hopefully, she will in the fall. I am sure Isabelle will eventually warm up to hers as well.

it’s beautiful. just to repeat what everyone else is saying, she may fall in complete and total love with it very soon, and you won’t be able to take it off of her. it really is lovely.

The poncho is so cute! And those pouty pictures of her are too! Made me laugh!

The poncho really turned out great. I’m sure you’ve figured out how fickle little ones are by now. Shoot, Isabelle might even like it tomorrow.

Hmmm, don’t worry so much about the poncho. Maybe if you put it in a spot where she’ll see it everyday, she’ll warm up to it. It’s really cute and I hope you’ll be able to get a picture of her wearing it soon.

What a cute poncho! Too bad that she won’t wear it. It was very kind of the dog to play along though! :)

That is the nicest girls poncho I have seen and I have been searching!
You are very clever. If she is anything like Lily she will want to wear it when she is not asked!!
