Mata Hari Socks, toe up

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I did rip it out, rather gleefully I might add. And as I did so I wondered why I always find it so hard to decide to rip when I have such fun doing the actual ripping and really don’t mind re-knitting at all once I am doing it?

The second attempt is much better. It’s a better length. I wrapped an extra pair of stitches which I think has improved the fit in the ankle. And I did a far better job of closing the holes when joining back into the round.

I am totally in love with this toe up on circulars business.

They look Great! It’s amazing what a difference a cm or two can make.
Ripping is fun , but I prefer it to be on something I haven’t spent much time working on.

Nice job! You make me want to try my first sock(s) sometime soon, (after all the holiday knitting is done). I thinking, though, that perhaps my first should be a Christmas stocking, so that if it’s a big mess, I won’t feel guilty about not knitting a second one!

This is looking just wonderful, I’m glad you were able to rip it out and make it just right–I’m also starting to realize that I don’t mind ripping out and reknitting so much, I guess it’s better than ending up with something that you don’t like in the end!

Your socks are looking beautiful!! I haven’t tried toe-up yet. Wanted to tell you also — when I was getting ready to begin the Debbie Bliss Cabled Jacket (yours is lovely, by the way!), I searched around on the net for info on other people’s experiences with it and came across your blog. Your photos and description of the whole process helped inspire me to knit the jacket, which I just finished! Your work is great! :-)
